CBS Picks Up The Crazy Ones, Mom, Hostages, The Millers, Intelligence, and We Are Men
CBS has officially gotten into the game of ordering new series, which NBC, FOX, and The CW have already dabbled in this season. The Eye has picked up new dramas Hostages and Intelligence, along with comedies The Crazy Ones, Mom, The Millers, and We Are Men.
Based on the Israeli series Bnei Aruba, Jerry Bruckheimer's Hostages tells the story of a successful surgeon who is selected to operate on the President, only to be told she must kill him after her family is taken hostage. The show stars Dylan McDermott, Tate Donovan, Toni Collette, Billy Brown, and James Naughton. Meanwhile, Intelligence follows U.S. Cyber Command and its key agent (Josh Holloway) who has a microchip implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. In addition to Holloway, Intelligence features Michael Rady, Meghan Ory, Marg Helgenberger, and James Martinez.
On the comedy side, the network has picked up Chuck Lorre's Mom, starring Anna Faris as a newly sober single mom who tries to pull her life together as a waitress in Napa Valley; The Crazy Ones, a single-camera about the brilliant - but slightly out of his mind - head of an advertising agency (Robin Williams) and his daughter/creative director (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who's tasked with keeping him in check; The Millers, created by Greg Garcia and starring Will Arnett, about a recently divorced man whose parents decide to move in with him; and We Are Men, centered on a newly single guy who is taken under the wing of a group of more experienced guys at his short-term rental complex.
CBS is set to reveal its 2013-2014 primetime schedule on Wednesday, May 15th.
